Want to make a pair of socks lightning fast? We will crank your sock or fingering weight yarn into a tube – or two, and then you can knit the cuff, heel, and toe by hand. This takes the boring part out of sock knitting and lets you quickly finish pair after pair of (mostly) handknit socks! This makes great fingerless mitts too!

Here's how it works:

STEP 1: Pick Your Yarn

Purchase one of the many great sock yarns available at fancywork - OR -
Use a skein of sock yarn purchased elsewhere (*additional charge $5)

STEP 2: Pick Your Tube Size

54 sts around (approx. 6.25" circumference – youth/small women's size)
60 sts around approx. 6.75" circumference – average women's size)
72 sts around approx. 7.5" circumference – average men's size)

Pick a size that is about 10-20% smaller than your foot circumference, depending on how snug a fit you'd like.

Do you want one long tube or two shorter tubes? We will split your tube in half for no extra charge! Important: Please note your preference for a single tube or split tube in the Customer Notes on checkout.

STEP 3: Select Other Options

Hold back yarn: How much yarn would you like us to hold back for knitting your cuffs, heels, and toes?

Choose from: Nothing – knit the whole skein into tube(s), 10%, 20% or 30%

Or instead, use a contrast color to really add some fun!

*Cuff Treatment: Want us to add a cuff treatment to get you even further along? At the starting edge of each tube, we can add one of the following options for an additional $10 per order:

GENERAL

All orders will be cranked in the order received, typically within 14 days.
Each sock tube (quantity of 1) uses 100 grams of yarn—either one 100g skein or two 50g skeins.
Waste yarn will be added to both ends of the tube, and between skeins if using two 50g skeins.
If you'd like your 100g skein split into two tubes, we can join them with waste yarn in the middle at no extra charge. Important: Please note your preference for a single tube or split tube in the Customer Notes on checkout.

YARN PURCHASED AT OTHER SHOPS:

We’re happy to crank sock tubes using yarn purchased from other shops! If you're not local, you'll need to ship your yarn to us and cover the cost of return shipping. We’ll follow up with you to coordinate the return details once your order is received.
