We’re beyond excited to welcome Heather of Girl With a Hook for a colorful, texture-filled trunk show at Fancywork! Many of us on staff are already obsessed with Heather’s wire & wool earrings—her playful, fiber-filled jewelry that lets you wear yarn all year long—and we can’t wait to see what other treasures she’ll bring. This special trunk show is the perfect chance to find one-of-a-kind, wool-inspired gifts for your fiber-loving friends (and maybe yourself!), even if they haven’t yet fallen down the delightful rabbit hole of knitting, crochet, weaving, or spinning.
Heather is a small-batch wool dyer and spinner with a passion for bright, bold color and rich texture. Working with locally sourced wool, she scours, dyes, and spins every skein by hand, creating art yarns and fibers as unique as snowflakes. Alongside her handspun yarns and hand-dyed spinning fibers, she’ll be showcasing her signature wire & wool jewelry—vibrant, textural pieces that bring the joy of wool to any outfit, ready-to-wear fingerless gloves and blanket mini greeting cards, too! Stop by, meet Heather, and soak up the color—this is one trunk show that promises to dazzle.
December 20–28 at Fancywork Yarn Shop
Magic, laughter, and a love of making come together in this enchanting Coven Collective Trunk Show at Fancywork. Founded by four creative spirits—Antje, Fallon, Jess, and Kacie—Coven Collective was born from friendship, craft, and a shared passion for creativity. These makers met as adults during the pandemic and quickly became each other’s found family, turning their love of fiber arts into a joyful collaboration that celebrates color, connection, and community.
Stop by Fancywork December 20–28 to explore hand-dyed yarns and beautifully crafted project bags, each piece infused with the group’s signature blend of artistry and personality. Expect rich hues, playful textures, and designs that capture the spirit of makers who truly do it all—from macramé to painting, spinning to stitching.
We’re thrilled to welcome Kacie from Coven Collective in-store on Saturday, December 20 for a special meet-and-greet to kick off the trunk show. Come share a laugh, shop the collection, and experience the creative spark these makers have spun together—just in time to treat yourself (or a fellow fiber friend) this holiday season.

FAQs
What's a Knitalong (or Crochetalong, or Makealong)?
A knitalong (KAL), Crochetalong (CAL) or Makealong (MAL) is a social event designed to bring the maker community together around a specific pattern or yarn – or sometimes both. Enjoy connecting with others while knitting or crocheting the same garment or working with a particular yarn together. This is a fantastic time to gather together with others in our fiber arts community, enjoy camaraderie, and get a little guidance and project support along the way.
What ISN'T a Knitalong/Crochetalong/Makealong?
A KAL/CAL/MAL is not a class. You should be reasonably familiar with the techniques required to work through the project at hand. However, help is never far away! If you ever find yourself in need of extended project support, drop in to one of our Help Sessions, offered weekly on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 1-3pm.
We’ve pulled together a few pattern and yarn pairings to inspire your gift list:
Super Bulky: Malabrigo Rasta
Bulky: Malabrigo Mecha, Chunky, or Vientos
Aran: West Yorkshire Spinners Fable, The Fibre Co. &Make Aran, or Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino + Soft Silk Mohair
Worsted: Amano Riti, Malabrigo Rios, or mYak Baby Yak Medium
THE SCHEDULE:
Join us for three Saturday afternoons of camaraderie, encouragement, and plenty of holiday cheer as we knit our way toward the season of giving.
- Meetup 1: Saturday, December 6 from 3–5 p.m.
- Meetup 2: Saturday, December 13 from 3–5 p.m.
- Meetup 3: Saturday, December 20 from 3–5 p.m.
