Then the Body is worked in one piece from the bottom edge to underarms, joining the pocket as you go, and working a small slit between the Right Front and Back
for the I-Cord tie. Fronts and Back are then divided, the Sleeves are joined, and the Yoke is worked in one piece to the shoulders, with raglan shaping. The neck edge is finished with an I-cord bind-off.

Kuutar is a Finnish word meaning “the lady of the moon” or “the goddess of moon.” This elegant summer top is knitted seamlessly top-down starting at the neckband. In this class you'll learn to liberate your pullovers into cardigans in Icelandic Lopapeysa-style. Working in miniature and with first-hand knowledge passed from Icelandic Knitter, Hélène Magnusson to your instructors, we'll share the secret super powers of knitting stranded colorwork cardigans with Icelandic wool. In order to lessen the anxiety of steeking, our project will be a doll-sized sweater perfect for gifting to a little loved one or keeping as a reminder to yourself that you can do amazing things!
Your takeaways from this class will include color selection, color dominance and tips for maintaining proper tension in stranded colorwork knitting, building in that all-important steek gusset and how to make sure your sweater doesn't unravel on you.
Then we will fearlessly and deftly cut our cute sweaters right up the center, pick up a tidy edge and learn how to finish with it with a zipper!
Along the way we'll talk about Icelandic sheep, the history of the iconic lopapeysa, and why knitting with lopi yarn is different than knitting with other yarns.
All materials and equipment other than knitting needles and notions will be included for this class. Join us for what's sure to be a wildly fun class!
