Just as painters begin with a blank canvas before starting a painting, we fiber lovers have blending boards, carders, and more! By using these tools as our blank canvases, an endless universe of fibrous combinations is right around the corner.
A rolag is one of the many ways fiber can be prepared before starting to spin. By reusing yarn scraps, not only are you recycling, you are creating a one of a kind blend! There is no right or wrong way to upcycle yarn scraps. This workshop will supply you with all the fiber scraps you need to get started with spinning! You'll learn helpful tips and tricks for preparing your yarn scraps for carding, best practices for using hand carders, and how to create beautiful rolags. At the end of class you'll have one, two, three, or maybe even ten rolags to spin!
