Curious about KnitCompanion? This pattern-tracking app makes it easy to keep your place in any project—whether you’re following one pattern or juggling many WIPs at once! In this beginner-friendly session, Kecia will guide you through all the free Basics features and offer a high-level tour of the powerful paid tools that come with the Setup+Essentials subscription (which we think is well worth the $29.99/year cost!).

- Counters for every project
- Link to Ravelry and Dropbox
- Sync across multiple devices

KnitCompanion 201: The Glowhair Edition

Take your KnitCompanion skills to the next level with Kecia as she guides you through setting up Stephen West’s Glowhair Frost Scarflet pattern from start to finish. This workshop is perfect for those who have already explored KnitCompanion’s basics and want to level up their use of its robust tools.
Key Paid Features we’ll explore:
Creating KEYS that stay visible
- Adding VIDEO links directly in your pattern
- Setting up CHARTS
- Joining Text Pieces for One-Tap progress
- Customizing your Row Marker
- Using Magic Markers to count and highlight stitches
Students should already be familiar with KnitCompanion’s basic features. (If not, join our KnitCompanion 101 class first!) You’ll need an active free trial or a Setup + Essentials subscription, plus purchase of the Glowhair Frost Scarflet pattern so we can all work from the same project file. This class will also get you perfectly prepped for our Bask in the Glowhair KAL on December 7 & 14!

What's a Knitalong (or Crochetalong, or Makealong)?
A knitalong (KAL), Crochetalong (CAL) or Makealong (MAL) is a social event designed to bring the maker community together around a specific pattern or yarn – or sometimes both. Enjoy connecting with others while knitting or crocheting the same garment or working with a particular yarn together. This is a fantastic time to gather together with others in our fiber arts community, enjoy camaraderie, and get a little guidance and project support along the way.
What ISN'T a Knitalong/Crochetalong/Makealong?
A KAL/CAL/MAL is not a class. You should be reasonably familiar with the techniques required to work through the project at hand. However, help is never far away! If you ever find yourself in need of extended project support, drop in to one of our Help Sessions, offered weekly on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 1-3pm.
