Whether you’ve never picked up needles before or you’ve dabbled in the past and are in need of a refresher, this class will give you a solid foundation of the fundamentals of knitting. We’ll cover key topics including casting on, binding off, the knit and the purl stitch, plus how to reading a simple pattern, and unknitting and picking up dropped stitches so you’re able to fix mistakes when they happen (and they happen to the best of us). There will also be a short discussion on gauge and how to find patterns.

Fixing Mistakes:
- Tinking (that's "knit" backwards!)
- Frogging
- Picking up a dropped stitch
- Picking up a dropped stitch from several rows down
- Correcting other common mistakes

- The importance of gauge
- How to calculate gauge
- How to adjust gauge
Bonus:
- Reading your stitches
- Reading a pattern
- How to use Ravelry
What you’ll make: A set of four mug rugs to rest your beverage on during future fantastic knitting sessions!
Class meets once weekly on Sunday from 11am-1pm. All materials are included.
