Three designs. Endless cozy Sundays.

14 in stock - Ready to be shipped

Andrea Mowry’s Weekender sweaters have become true knitting legends—beloved for their effortless style, cozy fit, and just-one-more-row magic. Now it’s your turn to cast on! Join us for Weekender Sundays, a knitalong at Fancywork Yarn Shop where you can choose from any of the three Weekender designs and knit alongside fellow fans.

Whether you’re swooning over the classic pullover, tempted by the lightweight version, or ready for the pocketed crew-neck, this is the perfect excuse to finally make that sweater. Gather with Kecia and Maricela for three Sundays this fall to stitch, laugh, and bring your Weekender to life—you’ll be wearing yours before you know it!

What will you knit your Weekender in? Here are some of our favorite suggestions:

The Weekender: This worsted-weight classic was originally designed in Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, which, sadly, is no longer. mYak Baby Yak Medium, Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino, Fiber MacGyver Merino Alpaca, or Amano Yarns Riti would all make lovely substitutes.

The Weekender Light: This is a fingering-weight version of the OG Weekender. We're thinking about Knitting for Olive Merino, or mYak Fior di Lino. Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift would also fit the bill nicely.

The Weekender Crew: Last but not least, the crew-neck version – with pockets – makes a great project for a DK-weight Weekender. Consider Wooldreamers Mota, Caldera DK (check our stock in-store), Malabrigo Verano for a cotton version, or mYak Tibetan Cloud.

Those of you who attended our Purls of Wisdom lecture "Knitting Off Gauge with Intention" this summer have even more options! As always, we're here to help you with your yarn choice 7 days a week.

FAQs

What's a Knitalong (or Crochetalong, or Makealong)?
A knitalong (KAL), Crochetalong (CAL) or Makealong (MAL) is a social event designed to bring the maker community together around a specific pattern or yarn – or sometimes both. Enjoy connecting with others while knitting or crocheting the same garment or working with a particular yarn together. This is a fantastic time to gather together with others in our fiber arts community, enjoy camaraderie, and get a little guidance and project support along the way.

What ISN'T a Knitalong/Crochetalong/Makealong?
A KAL/CAL/MAL is not a class. You should be reasonably familiar with the techniques required to work through the project at hand. However, help is never far away! If you ever find yourself in need of extended project support, drop in to one of our Help Sessions, offered weekly on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 1-3pm.
