This popular class is packed with essential sock-knitting techniques! You’ll learn how to construct socks from the toe up, ensure proper sizing, work short-row heels, and master finishing techniques. Plus, you'll discover the Magic Loop method for knitting small circumferences. This simple and enjoyable approach will have you hooked on hand knit socks! And since socks are a perfect portable project, you can take them with you wherever you go. No previous sock experience needed.

Materials: One skein worsted weight yarn such as Malabrigo Rios, 32" US 5 circular knitting needle for Magic Loop knitting, OR US 5 double-pointed knitting needles OR US 5 FlexiFlips. Stitch markers, darning needle, and a pair of scissors. 

Prerequisite skills: Casting on, joining in the round, knitting, purling and binding off.

Whether you’ve never picked up needles before or you’ve dabbled in the past and are in need of a refresher, this class will give you a solid foundation of the fundamentals of knitting. We’ll cover key topics including casting on, binding off, the knit and the purl stitch, plus how to reading a simple pattern, and unknitting and picking up dropped stitches so you’re able to fix mistakes when they happen (and they happen to the best of us). There will also be a short discussion on gauge and how to find patterns.
