Unlike traditional mohair, which can sometimes feel prickly or irritating against sensitive skin, Suri alpaca fibers are smoother and rounder, creating a noticeably softer and silkier feel on the skin. The halo is more refined and less “grabby,” making Fiber MacGyver's Suri Silk a great option for those who love the look of mohair but find it too scratchy to wear comfortably. Use it single stranded for a lightweight and drapey look, or hold it together for a touch of that fluffy flair we all know and love!
Malabrigo Susurro is a warm weather favorite that blends softness, breathability, and a gentle texture into something truly special. Made from a thoughtful mix of mulberry silk, merino wool, and linen, this lightweight yarn offers the best of all three fibers. Silk for sheen, merino for softness, and linen for strength and structure.
The result is a fabric with an airy feel and a subtle, lived in texture that only gets better with wear. The linen adds a slight crispness on the skein, but softens beautifully after washing, while the silk gives a soft glow that enhances Malabrigo’s signature hand dyed colorways.
Each strand of Swanky Floof is impossibly airy, yet rich with warmth, making it perfect for gossamer shawls, dreamy layering pieces, or for adding just a hint of fluff to your favorite knits and crochets. The silk content lends a luminous sheen and strength, while the alpaca and cashmere wrap you in gentle luxury.
A wonderful alternative for patterns that call for mohair or brushed suri lace weight yarn. Whether Swanky Floof is used on its own or paired with other yarns for added texture and depth, this yarn elevates every stitch. Soft, fluffy, and delightfully indulgent. Beware: this is yarn will spoil you!

Together we'll work through instructor Dedra Clark's own design, The Brave Little Cowl, a clever pattern that sets the stage for a "Choose Your Own Adventure" approach to learning. Take this class, knit the cowl and wear it pride, as it. Or, continue your colorwork journey with our follow-up Steeking class, in which your finished cowl becomes the canvas for learning to cut open your work and transform it magically. Steek once and add a button band and–voilà–your cowl becomes a stylish buttoned neck warmer. Or cut it four times for extra steeking practice, add a border around each square, and you'll have a set of adorable coasters upon which to place your well-deserved drink.

The hardy sheep that bring us this remarkable wool roam freely on the grassland of the Tibetan Plateau at an altitude of over 4000 mt. Out of deep respect for animal welfare, nomads shear the sheep by hand in the traditional way that has been used for centuries, collecting the fiber following the natural life rhythms of the animals and the people who raise them. Tibetan sheep are a very strong breed that have adapted to the rough environmental conditions of the Himalayan plateau.
The herd that produces fiber for mYak Tibetan Cloud comes from a poorer area of Tibet, intentionally chosen to bring a better income to these communities. mYak aims to give this thousand of years old nomadic lifestyle an opportunity to thrive and prosper in uncertain modern times. The fiber is spun and dyed in Biella, at the foothills of the Italian Alps, the cradle of most ancient and prestigious Italian textile excellence.
