This colorful and versatile book contains patterns for 52 inspirational accessories — mostly knits but also a few crochet pieces — created by 48 international designers. It is the perfect companion for those who love knitting hats, shawls, socks and mittens, but it also includes other fun projects such as cowls, hoods, headbands and bags.
The designs in 52 Weeks of Accessories are suitable for a range of knitting abilities and needs, and feature an array of techniques including cables and colorwork as well as simpler stitches.
The patterns are created by the following designers: Jenny Ansah, Paulina Castell Gutiérrez, Susan Chin, Elena Dimchevska, Nele Druyts, Anna Eklund, Jaana Etula, Belén Fernández, Lindsey Fowler, Lily Kate France, Soraya García, Izabela Grzybek, Émilie Hallet, Jonna Helin, Karen S. Meiju K-P has compiled 22 patterns in her debut book, Contrasts: Textured Knitting, that features her signature effortless looking cables, detailed magical lace, and seemingly perfect symmetrical patterns. From hats, sweaters, cardigans, ponchos, and more! K-P designs patterns that are engaging and perfect for challenging yourself to new levels.
The Finnish knitter created the patterns in Contrasts: Textured Knitting to be versatile basics that are easy to adjust to any sizing. (Pattern preview descriptions taken from Laine Publishing website.)
MAJA HAT
The Maja Hat features a unisex style with a twisted stitch pattern that is worked without a cable needle and becomes easier to knit round by round. The stitch pattern is the same as in the Maja Jacket, so the hat is a perfect way to try out and learn the stitches. The hat has three written sizes so it can be knitted for the whole family.
PATHWAY
The Pathway shawl features a reversible cable pattern knitted from side to side. You don’t have to think which side you are throwing around your neck: the shawl is always the right side up.
ALKU
This top-down, cabled cardigan, named for “the beginning” in Finnish, features inset slit pockets. The front’s long, dramatic V-shape meets at the waist. Reverse stockinette triangles at the underarm create Alku’s A-line shaping.
Knits to Wear: Effortless Patterns will feature 17 modern, Scandinavian-inspired designs. Created with the intention of combining comfort and contemporary elegance. Laine Publishing anticipates Kutova Kika’s newest book to become a major bestseller based on feedback from her past publications. We knitters just can’t get enough of Kika!
The 7 sweaters, 2 cardigans, 3 tops, 1 vest, 3 hats, and 1 collar are patterns that Kika designed to be timeless, decorative, and modern. As you knit each pattern, Kika hopes you will learn more about your personal style and discover what brings you joy when you wear your pieces.
