Shelter has a rustic hand and rich, tweedy color palate, making it perfect for classic cardigans and grab-and-go sweaters. Dyed-in-the-wool, you’ll find yourself turning to worsted-weight Shelter again and again for lightweight yet warm wardrobe staples and surprisingly durable accessories.

Woolen-spun Shelter is Brooklyn Tweed’s versatile, 2-ply worsted-weight yarn, ideal for knitting sweaters of all kinds, sumptuous shawls and wraps, warm hats and mittens, even heirloom blankets. Wyoming-grown American Targhee wool is lightly plied to form a lofty yarn that traps heat within each strand for a wonderfully warm and lightweight fabric. Wet blocking allows Shelter to bloom into its full potential, producing a subtle halo and incredible softness. A true dyed-in-the-wool yarn, Shelter’s processed fleece is dyed and then blended into 45 heathered shades. Brooklyn Tweed is committed to honoring the work of American ranchers, mills and dye houses and thus, as with all Brooklyn Tweed yarns, Shelter is developed, sourced, processed, spun and dyed 100% in the USA.
