Rancher Julie Hansmire has been lovingly tending and thoughtfully breeding her Merino flock for nearly 30 years, honing her sheep’s fleeces into wool of astonishing quality and unparalleled softness.

OPEN RANGE
Reared without fences, the flock is grazed across open grasslands by Julie’s close-knit team of Peruvian shepherds, moving with the seasons from Colorado to Utah and back. This environmentally sustainable ranching method cuts down on flammable brush and controls the spread of noxious weeds. The Campbell-Hansmire Merino sheep are ethically sheared and compassionately raised, producing a soft, downy wool that mirrors the tenderness of their care.

FIBER
The Campbell-Hansmire flock produces fine 20.7 micron fiber for next-to-skin softness. Julie Hansmire’s Merino sheep grow dense, lustrous fleeces with firm crimp structure for bounce and elasticity.

CONSTRUCTION  
Five worsted-spun plies create a yarn with the perfect pairing of springiness and strength. The round cross-section forms stitches with beautiful definition in cables, colorwork, and stockinette stitch alike.
