Weld is a gorgeously heathered blend of 70% U.S. Merino and 30% U.S. Corriedale wool. Weld is a well-balanced three-ply yarn, with a slightly more energetic twist for strength and durability. It has a beautiful balance of stitch definition, bounce, and woolly, cohesive bloom that produces both beautiful stockinette fabrics and delicate lace, texture, and brioche, and is perfect for stranded colorwork. Weld blooms beautifully and easily knits up on larger needles; we like it on anywhere from a US 3 to a US 6 (3.25 to 4.00 mm), depending on the application.
The Merino wool in Weld is grown in Colorado and New Mexico, the Correidale is sourced in New York. Weld is spun at Battenkill Valley Fibers in Greenwich, New York, and dyed at Caledonian Dyeworks in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
