Jacqueline Cieslak’s fundamental design philosophy is that every body deserves clothes that fit perfectly. Her first book, Embody, is an extension of her commitment to embracing all of our community.
Embody offers a perspective on making which centres versatility, minimalism, and sustainability, both in making and wearing handmade clothes. Along with patterns and styling tips, Jacqui shares insights from her years of teaching capsule wardrobe workshops that will be invaluable to makers at any stage of building their own handmade wardrobe. Celebrate your body and the art of making with Embody as your guide.
Embody consists of three core patterns — two knitting, one sewing — with instructions to adapt them into up to 25 different garments that are graded for chests up to 64 inches. The patterns include full instructions for bespoke fit that reflects whatever you think of as perfect. This book is designed to be the foundation of any maker’s me-made wardrobe.
