Learn how to confidently knit top- or cuff-down socks and step out in style! Socks are a great small project you can take anywhere you go. We’ll start with a discussion about proper sizing and the components of a hand knit sock. Learn techniques such as the German Twisted Cast-On, turning the heel with short row shaping, and Kitchener stitch to close up the toe. No prior sock experience is required.
Materials:
- One 400 yard+ skein of sock weight yarn such as Malabrigo Sock or The Fibre Co. Amble
- US 1, 32-inch circular needle for Magic Loop Method or US 1 DPNs. Please note: The Magic Loop technique will not be taught in this class. If you choose to use a longer circular needles, you must already be confident with the Magic Loop method
- tapestry needle, tape measure, stitch markers, and scissors
 Prerequisite Skills: Students should be able to cast on, knit and purl in the round, be familiar with increases and decreases and feel comfortable using double pointed needles or Magic Loop Method.
