Kick Off: Saturday, February 29, 2-4 pm
Mid-point Check-in: Saturday, March 21, 2-4 pm
Wrap Party: Saturday, May 2, 2-4 pm
Hot on the heels of our FABULOUS evening with Brooklyn Tweed Founder & Creative Director, Jared Flood, we are so excited to cast on the very same, cozy sweater Jared wore to our shop! Looks can be deceiving with the Ivon cardigan. At first glance, Ivon is a simple overgarment, but upon closer inspection couture design elements begin to reveal themselves. Overlapped crescent cuffs, fully faced front bands, and short-row set-in sleeves elevate an otherwise straightforward piece of outerwear. Knit in woolen-spun Shelter yarn, Ivon is perfect for warding off chilly weather and begs to be layered over the other bespoke pieces in your collection.
If you want to channel your inner Jared and knit your Ivon in Ranch 02, just as he did, you’re in luck! Jared has detailed his modifications to the pattern, including gauge and yarn requirements for substituting slightly heavier weight Ranch 02, in this blog post. Several sweater quantities for Ivon have already been purchased at the shop, so we know at least three Ivons will be worked in Ranch 02 and we can’t wait to see them!
We’ll gather for the KAL launch and cast-on party on Saturday, February 29. At the mid-way point – March 21st – we’ll meet again for a progress check. And we’ll celebrate our finished objects and great successes with merriment and prizes at the wrap party on May 2nd. Feel free to come, sit, and knit in the shop anytime in between. The KAL is free to participate in. If you need project help, our $10 sessions are Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11AM to 1PM.
