Time: Tuesday, November 2 from 1-3pm
Level: Intermediate
Cost: $40

Explore a colorwork knitting technique that uses blocks of colors to create a strong graphic effect. Instarsia is typically used when single colors are needed in localized areas, rather than frequently throughout the piece, as in stranded colorwork. The colors are not carried across the back of the knitting as in stranded knitting. In this two-hour, in-person class, we will knit a small seasonal sampler. Come and learn helpful hints and ways to incorporate this special technique into your knitting.

Materials: We will be knitting a snowman motif in this class. Yarn needed: one-mini skein each of worsted weight yarn in four colors: (1) background color, (1) white, (1) black and (1) orange. 24″ circular US 8 knitting needle, tapestry needle, and scissors. Please purchase your materials in advance of the start of class. Fancywork classes support yarn purchased at our shop.

Prerequisite skills: Must to know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Instructor: Kris Redmond
